For the people who think that Disney made big mistakes in costumes, wake up!!! The Japanese actually copied the Chinese traditional costumes because they admired it. Those people who are guilty of this should see some Chinese paintings of Chinese girls as they all show them wearing costumes similar to the ones in Mulan.

Because I live in Germany I had not the chance to see this surely absolut fabulous movie. But all the trailers I've seen and the beautiful pictures made me really looking forward to it. I do hope, that never ever disney features become out of interest because it really changed my life and I will always be grateful for that.

I think it was great that there was no major love story in the movie. Mulan was a hero by herself. I also like the fact that she looked like a normal girl. It was a wonderful story and I liked all the characters.

For anyone who claims Disney made a mistakes in Mulan's costumes, maybe YOU should go to a library and do some research on what Chinese costumes were like in the 7th century.

I'll say this one more time: Japanese costumes started out as copies of Chinese Tang costumes. If you don't believe me, hit the library and do some reading. Then you may find how silly your statement was.

Overall, MULAN was a great animated movie.
The reason why I don't give it a 10 was because the hairstyles and custumes of the characters were all Japenese styles!!!!! Mulan was a Chinese! I was surprised that Disney made such a BIG mistakes.

Inaccuracies? This is an animated film (an excellent one at that) geared for the family, not some black-white documentary about the traditions and majesties of the empire. Besides, it bleed some heartfelt tones and power you never see in American animated films. Truely, Mulan is a great film. Like a fellow said earlier in the archives, even the $200 million dollar picture Titanic had inaccuracies...

An excellent movie with fantastic animation and the best use of computer animation I've ever seen. The soundtrack was not fabulous, but had an odd draw towards it because of the catchyness of the tunes. Plus, a great story that had a lot of humor and a lot of seriousness, which gave it an excellent balance as an overall movie. And a lot of memorable and loveable characters.

There are some strong inaccuracies in this movie. For instance, no emperors ever walked outside the palace gates without being flanked by elite palace guards. The fact is emperors didn't even trust their own armies and therefore had their own private force of palace guards.

I rated Mulan 10 not because I'm a Chinese. It's really a great animation movie. The plot is simple; the drawings are excellent! If you've ever noticed the reflection of Mulan on the water, on the tombstones, and the scene where the Huns running down the hill, and the scene which people bowed down to Mulan, and so on. I can feel the heard work within those beautiful scenes. And the artists not only used Chinese style but also the western comic style in drawing -- great! And the songs and scores -- great! The singers, such as Lea Salonga, did an excellent job! And the voices, such as Ming-Na Wen -- fabulous! The producers also did a great job in creating the charater of Mushu. And it's really hilarious! I can see lots of hard work being put into it! I'M PROUD OF MULAN, not only the character, but also the movie!!! ***** (five stars)
