| Its a very good movie, one of Disneys best, but I must admit that there are a few that are better that it. I do have to say, the songs are the best of all that Disney has made, especially "Make a Man out of You" |

| This movie was fantastic. I loved all of the characters and the comedy in Mulan. Mushu was hillarious and so were all the scenes where she tries to act tough(like when she tries to spit). The battle with the Huns was fantastic. The CG Huns charging down the snow hill made chills run down my spine. Mulan deserves no less than a 10. |

The Mulan animation was superb, from the spectacular scene of thousands of Huns charging down the moutain side to the more subtle Chinese art influences apparent in the rolling smoke clouds and scenery.
The characters are well-thought out and everything is fairly believable. Personally, I think Mushu is Murphey's best role yet. ;-P
My only complaint (very tiny one) was the way they got rid of Shan Yu. Getting blown up by fireworks seems just a bit contrived.
All in all, a fantastic movie, one which has already been added to my video library. Timeless. |

To MulanFanatic:
I'm glad you are enthusiastic about animation as I am. When I ventured my career in animation, it was pretty much a dying art. Now that Disney has revived itself, after a disasterous release of Hunchback of Notre Dame and Hercules, everyone is feeling the magic again.
First, I would like to clear up something about the songs in Mulan. The songs are slightly less pop-cult, especially "A Girl Worth Fighting For." And, in my taste, that's not bad. I personally liked the music in the film because, well, they were short and sweet. In fact, I did not notice many of the songs in the film because they were seemingless -- well intergrated into the film. Other films abruptly stop everything and paste a musical number in their films; it's distracting and obvious (in Hunchback we had Gargoyles dancing and singing out of the blue?).
Prince of Egypt is an example of a musical animated film gone awry. It stretches too much of its songs that aren't that great. I kept on looking at my watch during the course of the movie. Disney did the same in Hercules... remember "Go the Distance"? How far did that song stretch? Six minutes?
As for the score...
Mulan's musical score, alone, is brilliant. Did you here the percussions and bass go off in rythym in the avalanche scene? Very exciting...
While I am here, I would like to address what an achievement Mulan is to US animation. Mulan is the first heorine that uses her heart and brains to fight for her family and honor instead of using her looks or 'seashells' to find a ditsy prince or a man. I hope if I ever I have a daughter, she takes more from this cartoon than any other film out there... hopefully, this movie will break the molds and stereotypes found in some animated films.
For now, I'll wait for Disney's Tarzan and Miyazaki's Princess Mononke. |

| Mulan is a film that has an excepcional visual effects and (like all Disney's movies)each detail is very well done. The story is so beautiful. However, the music of the motion picture isn't as good as Hercules, The Hunchback of Notre Dame (The best,I think), Aladdin or Beauty and the Beast. |
