| Im writing this review for my mom. She LOVED it!! Its her favorite Disney film now, even more than Pocahontas which she also adored. Weve seen it twice together, and shes willing to go back and see it again and again and again!!! She loves all of the songs, especially Reflection and Honor to Us All. Its funny because I always find her huming and dancing to the latter while she makes dinner! | |

| After seeing Mulan, I started asking my friends what they thought. Most of them being anime fans (a group that has a tendency to be anti-Disney) I was a little surprised to hear a lot of "it was really good." They had some gripes (the vocal music pieces, mostly) but on the whole, it was well recieved. For me, it's the second best Disney flick I've seen (after The Lion King.) I was impressed by how Disney managed to keep the drama going, and still throw in those little humorous bits. It was nice to see a story that had a non-romantic focus, and evidently Disney is taking Mulan seriously to go against some cartoon canon.(shoot, she actually BLED!!!) Goldsmith's score was excellent, probably the best for a Disney movie yet. And the consistency in character designs is another very fine point. What was really cool was how well meshed the traditional and computer animation was. I knew what parts were CG, but like The Lion King, it was very difficult to tell. All in all, this is a must see. Mulan could potentially change how animation is looked at in the US. I'm hoping it does. | |

| Fantastic!! What an achievment for the feature length produced by the Florida studio. Mulan signifies a return to the truly classic Disney animation. The story has passion behind it. The animators have done an outstanding job of producing a visually enticing movie. The colors are subtle and in keeping with traditional Chinese art forms such as brush painting, less is more. I enjoyed seeing the forms tranlated into the movie, from the opening credits where the flow of a painting in progress sets the scent to the big ending where even the swirls of smoke carry the Chinese influence. See it!!! It's wonderful. | |

| As a movie it was simply impeccable. Disney did a great job in that they sought extensive Chinese collaboration, virtually eliminating all "Fu Manchu" stereotype found in most Western movies. Eddie Murphy proved himself again & again. Since I was once myself a falconer, my favorite character is obviously Shan Yu. | |

| I think this movie is great. The animation is so unique. I especially enjoyed the Hun Charge and the Great Wall. The characters were very memorable and the movie was extremely hilarious. I liked the movie although I do have to admit I miss Alan Menken. The acting was great and the plot was set up very well. I hope to see more Disney movies like this in the future. The one drawback was probably the ending. It was kind of abrupt in my opinion. In all, I really enjoyed the movie and I think it is a must see. | |

| Spectacular artwork, particularly the battle/avalanche in the mountain pass. Strong character animation -- Mulan's horse, in particular, a great piece of work. Solid adaptation of the cliches of the WW2 basic training movie for the middle and the modern action movie for the climax. Not quite the female empowerment lesson the commercial reviewers are all calling it -- after proving her worth and becoming a hero, Mulan turns down a seat on the Emperor's council to go home to her father and, eventually, marry the well born, handsome, brave, honorable but not all that bright Captain Li Shang. | |
